Join us for our 8th annual great day of learning and discovery brought to you by Friends of Skagit Beaches. Spend a day with top scientists and local community leaders presenting on a wide range of environmental topics. Our Keynote Speaker will be Jack Hartt, recently retired from 40 years in the Washington State Park system – 14 of those as Park Manager at Deception Pass State Park. Jack will present “Love and Beauty in the Time of Turbulence”, a talk based on reflections from a new forest monitoring project in the Anacortes Community Forest Lands. He will emphasis how we have within and among ourselves the power to make a difference and will weave together the rhythms of hope and encouragement that keep us harmonizing in the coming turbulent times. For the day, choose 3 from 6 breakout sessions such as “Sharks of Washington State”; “Wetlands: What are They and Why Should We Care?” and much more. Registration is required and please get your tickets soon. Visit www.skagitbeaches.org to register online as well as Friends of Skagit Beaches Facebook page to learn more.
