Owen's Foundation invites everyone to come together and enjoy friends, community, family, and music in honor of Owen Morton's life on what would have been his 15th birthday. Tragically, Owen passed away at only 14 years old on May 17, 2024 from internal bleeding after a motocross accident at Hannegan Speedway. Owen had two real passions in his life: music and motorcycles. It's a night full of rock n roll, featuring live music from: Fanny Alger The Dimes Friends for the Ghost Pops & the Boys Charlie Partin Proceeds benefit Owen's Foundation. Owen's father, Ben Morton, created Owen's Foundation as a non profit in partnership with Skagit Community Foundation. Their mission: • Provide scholarships for music lessons for underprivileged children under the age of 18 • Provide musical equipment to underprivileged children under the age of 18 • Help families with medical bills and/or bereavement costs when a child is lost during a sporting accident • Provide sports safety gear for children under the age of 18 • Maintain a safety gear selection available for check out by motocross riders in Owen’s Locker at Hannegan Speedway If community members have good used or new musical instruments or safety gear (i.e. sports shoes/safety gear to any motorized sports safety gear) they would like to donate to other children in need through Owen's cause you can bring your donation to this event or drop off at Gene's Pub in Burlington, WA. during open business hrs (12 pm - 12 am).
