Downtown Anacortes is hosting its biggest sidewalk sale of the year: the Whale of a Sale. This annual event will take place on Commercial Avenue and side streets on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Dozens of downtown merchants are rolling out their best deals. Live music will be along the avenue; strolling whales will roam the streets, delighting children for picture-taking and handing out candy. There are also food and beverage specials at participating restaurants, including a Tiki Bar.
